It finally arrived and I ignored it’s presence for two days while it sat in the garage encased in the unopened shipping carton . The occasional sidelong glance I offered it as I passed by always went immediately to the torn and rumpled corner the cardboard wore like a badge of honor as do most packages that are veterans of a long Fedex Ground journey . Since the initial order went out prior to last Christmas this was the fourth box to be opened in the seemingly forlorn hope of finding inside a bed cover that fit my pick up truck …. or something that was even a truck bed cover at all .

So for two days I just couldn’t show the necessary sack and open the box to face what I felt was the inevitable disappointment yet again . I did today and my new tonneau cover now sits atop the back of my pick up truck . It fits Ok … but I’m I’m not over the moon by the quality of this item . My last tonneau was made by the same company that lauds loudly over the fact they are made in Ann Arbor Michigan with design engineering beyond the norms of the industry. This may well be true …. however ….

All the hardware is no longer made of aircraft grade aluminum like the last one but instead of plastic. They try to make me feel better with the claim of a Life Time Warranty and then offer a price list for all the plastic parts that will with out doubt ultimately give up the ghost before that “warranty” ends . But ” Made in America” means something now a days I suppose even if under those large words in small letters reads … with global materials .
