Was just asked why I haven’t been writing anything and I suppose that was a bit flattering to think someone would have actually noticed . Instinctively I started to mention that I really haven’t had much of interest to relate lately but that would have been a lie . Near on fifty years ago I suffered time aboard a U.S. Navy ship and on the last day I brought home with me no fond memories and a ships patch. I still have the patch with the name of the ship and the ships motto in Latin which reads ” Date Nolite Rogare ” ….. which translates to , Give, be unwilling to ask. But sometimes the issue is forced and you have to ask ….. or worse… I had to ask ships motto be damned .
We just attended our monthly swap meet in central and very rural Florida where the fashion statement of the day was as usual, a red hat worn by those who’ve been convinced that America needs to be made great again . And lots of flags and banners . Whether I like him or not I still object to the “FxxK Biden” flag flown in public with children …. especially children denied a dictionary in their school . And it’s my contention that if the large banners mounted to shade tents proclaiming “Trump Won” were true then he’d still be President instead of running a new campaign from the court house steps .
When my insurance company and home health care facility failed in providing the recently necessary post surgery daily wound care for three weeks I stood hat in hand and accepted the offer of someone with the necessary skills . She came every day with out complaint …. the very same woman I saw cooking breakfasts and making coffee for neighbors after a devastating hurricane . Make America Great Again ? Takes a little more than wearing a red hat and waiting for a con man to change your world for you … While you may may be busy standing around in hope of making this country great ” again” you are surrounded by those busy keeping it that way .
On the eleventh day of wound care I received a phone call …..
” This is Dante of Home Health and I’m returning your call ”
And so I had to explain to Dante not to bother because after eleven days I’m already friggin dead .
