I’m old enough to remember that when a dictatorship invaded another country no Americans took the side of that dictatorship.
Not a single one of us would do so because that’s not who we were as Americans or what America was all about . We all believed in Democracy and freedom and I’m not talking about the pissant freedom to fight against getting a vaccine. I’m talking freedom, real freedom that’s worth picking up a rifle for .
I’m very pleased that I’m old enough to indulge that memory of us all being united on something like that . But it would seem a memory is all it is and that’s a shame .
Many years ago I personally witnessed the consequences of what the Russian government permitted its soldiers to do to a civilian population . Any one that praises that Russian regime for what is happening now will get no backing from me … nor should he from you .
