I remember working with a bricklayer many years ago who needed one singular day off . He used that unpaid day to take his wife to the hospital where she gave birth to twins….. almost like Pete and Chasten Buttigieg did .
Unlike Pete Buttigieg however, that Bricklayer was back on the wall with his fellow brickies , tired and haggard, that very next day . It had never even occurred to him that both he and the wife would need three months to get used to parenting . His wife maintained the children during the day while he continued on with his job of building a school that his twins would ultimately attend .
That Bricklayer and his wife never expected anything different ….. and it wasn’t easy I’m sure .
For “Pete’s Sake ” Mr. Buttigieg …. Abandon the unnecessary play act, leave the kids at home with the other and get back on the damn wall.
